The Civil Engineering Association (CESA) was formed with the primary aim of exposing potential civil engineers to the challenges of the profession. With both students and faculty as its members, the organization is one of the most active Civil Engineering Associations. Civil Engineering Students Association is a non-registered, non-profit organization within the department of Civil Engineering .CESA organizes activities like educational field trips in the state and out of the state of Goa, lectures by professionals and distinguished practitioners in the field , video are shown on latest technologies in the world , competitions and socially relevant projects for the students throughout the year. Through CESA the department of Civil Engineering builds a bridge for lively interaction between the students and industry. CESA provides a platform to showcase and sharpen student’s talents through a variety of events and activities planned throughout the year.
CESA Report : Installation of CESA Council 2025-2026

The joint installation ceremony of the Civil Engineering Student Association (CESA) and the Computer Engineering Council of Students (C-CODES) for the 2025-26 batch took place on 9th August 2025 at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Goa. This annual event marks the beginning of a year filled with educational initiatives, including state and out-of-state field trips, expert lectures, technology-focused videos, competitions, and socially impactful projects, all aimed at enriching students’ academic and professional development.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome by the host, Ms. Nadia Fernandes, who introduced the distinguished guests: Dr. Arnab Paul, Assistant Professor at BITS Pilani Goa; Engr. Krishna A. Sahakari, CEO of K.A. Sahakari & Associates; Rector Fr. Ralin De Souza; Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar; and Heads of Department, Dr. Shwetha Prasanna (Civil Engineering) and Dr. Gaurang Patkar (Computer Engineering), along with faculty coordinators Prof. Satyesh Kakodkar, Prof. Jonessa Ferrao, and Prof. Merwyn D’Souza. The lighting of the lamp marked the formal beginning of the event.
Dr. Gaurang Patkar delivered the welcome address, followed by the Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar’s speech, where she acknowledged the efforts of the outgoing CESA and C-CODES councils. She encouraged the students to stay abreast of technological advancements, engage in skill-based learning, and prepare for industry challenges. Rector Fr. Ralin De Souza shared his insights, emphasizing three core values: the importance of emotions and values over empty quotes, the power of human connections, and the added responsibility that comes with serving in a student council, where no one is ahead but all work together towards common goals.
The outgoing council was then felicitated for their hard work and commitment. In the second half of the event, the host, introduced the newly elected CESA council members: Chairperson Ms. Priya Maria Vales, Secretary Ms. Yukti Melindra Naik, Treasurer Mr. Tabrez Jamal Khan, and Executive Members Smita Sunil Naik, Vysel Filoska Costa, Sahil Murgod, Wayne Fernandes, Sarvadnya Dessai, and Joshelle Santimano.
In their addresses, the special guests shared valuable insights. Dr. Arnab Kumar Paul spoke on leadership, highlighting the student council’s role in bridging gaps between departments. Engr. K.A. Sahakari congratulated the new council, stressing that the world values engineers not just for structures, but for their resilience, safety, and integrity. He also encouraged students to focus on real-world problems through projects and software development.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Shwetha Prasanna, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the ceremony. The installation of the new CESA Council was not just a celebration of leadership but also an inspiration for the students to pursue excellence in both their academic and professional journeys.
